White Sands

In the last week and a half, Mike and I have been to White Sands three times! Judging by the amount of sand that was sitting in my car…it was pretty obvious! It is one of those wonders that you have to go to in your lifetime. Every time I go there, I want to run barefoot across the dunes like a little kid.

This past weekend Jen and Wayne came into town and we did a photo shoot at White Sands. Mike and I didn’t get a lot of wedding pictures with just us and we have been dying to go to do a shoot at White Sands, so we flew Jen out to take some…..and she did amazing! Here are some from her shoot:

The Best of Las Cruces

So far almost every time the past couple of weeks when I introduce myself to someone and tell them I just moved here from Las Vegas I get an “I’m sorry.”… or a “Why?”. Yes, it doesn’t exactly feel great to hear it, but instead of being bitter like most people are who move here, I am taking it to the next level.

Back in Vegas the newspaper released a Best of Las Vegas issue every year. I decided it is my job to go and try out things here in Las Cruces and basically give my review of the “best” things. I am going to blog about it on a separate blog and give my opinion of what I like and why I like it. Hey, it will give me a chance to find things here that I enjoyed back home!

Here is one thing I’m going to put on my list:

Best Smoothie

The place is called Junga Juice on Lohman right behind the Target parking lot. I’ll be honest, most of the smoothies are really sweet and sugary, but go in there and order the Acai Berry Blast. Best smoothie. Let’s just say I tried the other smoothie places in town and they just don’t live up to my expectations of a good smoothie. Try it!

Stay tuned for more!

Inspiration

In my last ward, I visit taught a girl that I hardly knew without a companion. I only met with her a few times, but this girl is seriously my hero. She goes on so many adventures..its crazy! She has this attitude about living life to the fullest and making each day exciting and brand new. I swear she has been to every continent and can speak different languages.

Anyway, go check out her blog. She is such a fantastic person and totally motivates me! I really look up to her in the sense of making sure that I just don’t sit around doing nothing. Nothing can stop you! My favorite quote is by John Bytheway and its:

“Don’t obsess over what you can’t control. Live life at the top of your lungs!”

I’m glad I have Megann to remind me of that and how I want to use that as my inspiration in life.

Here is her blog if you want to check it out:

Things to Blog About

I am so lazy today! I thought about how all school year I was wishing for summer and I haven’t even took a day to just chill! Between school ending, and the wedding, and moving, and unpacking, I don’t think I’ve really had a moment to slow down!

Anyway, during the day I think of things that I want to blog and then when it comes time to get on here, I completely freeze up. So I am going to make a list of things to blog about for future reference and then sometime down the road, I will just use this list. Hey, maybe I can give you some ideas or you can even suggest some for me to do.

I Love Him.

I know its so cheesy to blog about why you love your husband so much, but really I can’t help it. So if you don’t like it, here is a warning, don’t read this post! 🙂

I have been very homesick, but my husband has been such a great support. Here is just some of the reasons why I adore him:

1. When we say our prayers together, he always gives me a kiss right afterwards. One time I tried to jump up and got scolded for not kissing him.

2. He bought me a really nice mountain bike and makes me feel like I am the best biker ever even though I hardly can make it through a ride!

3. He texts me every night on his way to work to tell me he loves me and that he thinks I am the best wife ever.

4. When I get tired of cleaning up and leave something out, he puts it away for me.

5. He always makes sure to tell me I look pretty, even when I look like a drowned rat.

6. He lets me wear his socks when I can’t find mine.

7. He hugs me a lot. He has the best hugs.

8. He has yet to break a promise that he has made to me. When he says he is going to do it, he has.

9. He makes me laugh until I cry every day. He has so many “zingers”. Along with this, he makes up songs about me that crack me up.

10. Today, I watched him jump up when he was asleep and look around the room in panic. I asked him what was wrong and he said “he was looking for me”…

I have to stop here because Mike has to have a reputation to maintain and I may have tainted it a bit 🙂 But these are just a FEW things I thought of and there are many more for just me to enjoy. Thank you Mike!

Happy Day for Mike!

Mike FINALLY got his new bike in! After much drama with what shock to get and then ending up getting the WRONG shock….we are now able to ride every day! Believe me, I am excited to use my new bike too! I’m really wanting to try this beginner race in September here in Las Cruces.

What a sweet ride!

The New Pad…

It’s still in the works..but here is what we have all set up in our house. Poor Mike… wife came in and took over! Haha

If you have ever lived with me, you would recognize this room as a setup of my old room. I like to call it “Noodle’s room”…(my pet garter snake is in there)

The sitting room.

The cool pictures and paintings we got…

For Those Who Keep Asking…

So I keep getting emails asking for my pictures of the wedding and the fact of the matter is…I don’t have any!! I kind of left it up to my sister and she is in the works on it. 🙂

I did take some from people that posted pictures on facebook and well, here you go….and when I get the official pics, I will post!

So cute….I love my nephews..

The Day BEFORE

Wow. There is so much to blog! I am now officially in Las Cruces and almost moved in all the way. The house was a wreck, but I am slowly getting it into shape. 🙂 Anyway, I thought I would just slowly day by day add a few pics here and there of things. I have pictures of things I decorated and when my dad was here to visit, but let’s rewind back to the wedding first!

I grabbed some pictures from my sister of the day before the wedding. We went to the Rio buffet and met with all of our family and friends. The food was sooo good. They had really good gelato. The other pics are when we went and got pedicures…which I am in need of after moving my stuff in flip flops! Haha…

Of course we had to eat crab legs…

Poor Brittany all by herself…

The rest of the posse…

Brad and Christa at the buffet…

Just SOME of the boys…

I love PEDICURES.

It’s Official!

Mike and I are finally married! YAY! I’ll fill you in on everything after I get everything packed up and moved down to good old Las Cruces, New Mexico! I’ll start collecting pictures too!

Thank you everyone for all the love and support! It was a wonderful weekend!
